Meet Adishree

Adishree Nayak , OCD DC

Living with OCD or anxiety can feel like a full-time job — it affects every aspect of one's life, from school and work to relationships and daily routines. This becomes even more complex when identity, culture, and the pressures of a particular life stage are layered on top.

I have a particular passion for working with young adults and women, who are often navigating OCD and anxiety alongside the unique pressures of this stage of life — newfound independence, academic and social pressure, identity development, and relationships that are shifting all at once. I know how isolating it can feel to manage intrusive thoughts or anxiety while also trying to figure out who you are.

As a child of immigrants and a woman of color, I also recognize how culture, society, and intergenerational experience shape the ways we understand our own health and move through the world. This lens, along with my background in public health, helps me understand how larger systems influence individual wellbeing — especially for those navigating OCD, anxiety, and trauma at the intersection of culture and identity.

I am passionate about creating a
safe and affirming therapeutic space that honors strength and vulnerability. I draw from my lived experiences while always centering clients as the experts of their own lives. Those who know me best say that I am grounded, warm, and values-driven.

In my free time, I love dancing, scrolling on TikTok (!), trying new restaurants and recipes, and doing DIY projects. I also love hiking and spending time outside, especially in the rain!
